What We Have Achieved So Far
Not pledges — deeds, on ground we actually own. Land bought outright, farmers compensated, villages employed, logging stopped.
2,500 ha secured
Purchased outright and permanently reclassified from agricultural land to High Conservation Value.
57 employed locally
Neighbours clean and guard standing trees and prepare previously logged sites for planting.
Zero logging this year
Dozens of illegal operations stopped; boundary signage posted and enforced with local government.
Farmers compensated
Everyone farming the land without papers was paid, then offered 2 ha of farmland and planting support.
Diversified nursery stock
The land was surveyed and a balanced seedling mix acquired to return the forest to its bio-diverse past.
Ongoing community training
Continuous awareness work with surrounding villages on why the forest is worth more standing.
A Call for Love
Bumiku means “My Earth” in Bahasa Indonesia. Our earth is in crisis and it’s time to take thoughtful and strategic action toward establishing a proactive solution to the massive destruction of our unique rainforests. The rich rainforest life in Borneo is estimated to be around 140 million years old, making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world — but this natural treasure is being destroyed at an alarming rate.
It's time to take action with a new approach
The primary objective of the Bumiku Untukmu Conservation Project is to provide an opportunity to economically support local communities while protecting our precious rainforest at the same time.
We realised that the only way to create a guaranteed safeguard of Borneo’s unique tropical forest was to take ownership of it privately. So the Bumiku Conservation Project purchased 2,500 hectares of secondary rainforest in Kalimantan, with meticulous government licences to ensure the project continues unhindered — no matter which government is in power.
Instead of well-meaning petitions, donations and sponsorships with unclear effects or results, the Bumiku Project offers the opportunity to guarantee the preservation of 10 square metre parcels of the Borneo rainforest — parcels you hold the coordinates to, each with a one-year extendable rights agreement.
The project will employ around 4,000 local community members, each responsible for caring for, maintaining and protecting 2.5 hectares of forest. In this way you personally support a legacy of natural forestry life and regeneration, and provide an alternative income for local communities for generations to come. Replacing the destruction of the rainforest as a means of income for local families is a vital component of the programme’s success.
The government benefits too: these workers contribute through taxable income and help foster a lively economic ecosystem where previously none existed outside the few jobs in mining, forestry and plantations.
The Bumiku Conservation Project strives to deliver balance to the developing world, while preserving our precious resources before they disappear.

About Love & O2

In 2016 I donated 2,500 hectares of land with the dream of building the first tropical rainforest park to be enjoyed by generations. I’m not linked to any NGO or other charitable organisation. This is simply my donation to the country I love.
Through my project I aim to inspire people to help in every little way they can — starting from adding a plant to their garden, or joining us and helping to finance our cause. If every person in Indonesia pledged to plant just four trees in their lifetime and protect them, we would have our one billion trees planted.
With my humble heart as a private person, a wife and a proud mother of three, I’m not here to attack anyone. I’m here to help shine a light through a dark tunnel and ask you to join me on this journey to take better care of our wonderful planet.
I hope my campaign will grow and reach every corner of Indonesia, as well as the rest of the world. With your help, together we can make our goals of the future a reality of today, and leave this planet in a better condition than we found it.
Owning the Land Is the Only Guarantee
Indonesia holds the third largest area of rainforest outside the Amazon and Africa’s Congo Basin, and is the most species-rich country in the world — thousands of species spread over 18,000 islands that exist nowhere else.
Love & O2 is not like any other environmental protection organisation you’ve seen before. Many organisations working to protect rainforests do not own the actual land. We are convinced ownership is vital to guarantee long-term success.
Integrating the local community is key. They need to benefit, and to find alternative sources of income to extracting resources from the forest.
So Love & O2 built a platform that employs the surrounding villages to work within our project — planting and protecting our trees.
Friends of the Rainforest Park
The park sits in the incredible ecosystem of Central Kalimantan, right outside the town of Muara Teweh — 7 km from Beringin Airport. Everyone is welcome to visit, help us plant more trees, or simply see what we have been achieving.
